The agency's current job spotlight is for an Agricultural Outreach Coordinator (AOC). There are three positions available.
Each position reports to the Employment Services Division -- one in Greenwood, one in Beaufort, and one in Spartanburg. Incumbent will assist the agribusiness community by working with farmers, employees, and jobseekers to find workforce development solutions. Serve as an extension of the SC Works system to the agribusiness community through outreach to Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers (MSFW), working with farmers to address workforce development needs, and collaborating with workforce partners to coordinate services. Locate and contact Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers (MSFW) and workers that are not being reached by the normal intake activities conducted by the SC Works Centers. This outreach includes meeting with employees where they work, live, or gather (including day-haul sites). Position may require travel to surrounding counties.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school diploma and four years of experience in agriculture, agribusiness, working with farms, foreign labor, and/or relevant experience. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently. Strong oral and written communication, customer service and computer (e.g., MS Office or related software) skills.

DEW is responsible for paying unemployment insurance benefits, collecting unemployment taxes, helping people find jobs, matching businesses with qualified candidates, and collecting and disseminating state/federal employment statistics. Duties in this department include:
Operating the statewide Unemployment Insurance (UI) program.
Ensure appropriate controls have been built into all information systems and platforms.
Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of agency information systems.
Enhance use of facilities.

Reduce unemployment and under-employment.
Duties in this department include:
Assist individuals with finding employment by providing job search assistance, career guidance, workshops, and assessments.
Help businesses find qualified applicants for open positions by screening for skills and qualifications.
Provide assistance to Veterans to ensure they find meaningful civilian careers.
Operate Back to Work and Second Chance programs to help those with barriers to employment become job ready.
Coordinate activities for the SC Career Coach, a mobile SC Works center that is deployed to job fairs, rapid response events, and rural areas to provide services.
Duties in this department include:
Responsible for the program direction and administrative oversight of federal workforce programs, to include the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Provides support to the State Workforce Development Board, which governs the state’s public workforce system.
Partners with education and economic development to anticipate skill needs and provide a skilled workforce.
Develops funded initiatives to address the barriers that prohibit individuals from obtaining employment in high-growth, high-demand occupations.
Develops performance standards in the delivery of workforce services to jobseekers and businesses.
Duties in this department include:
Report federal and state data regarding unemployment and employment.
Identify economic trends, indicators, and probabilities based on current and historical statistics.
Duties in this department include:
Develops policies and procedures that adhere to federal and state laws and regulations governing unemployment, workforce development, and employment services.
Provides technical expertise in the operation of the Employment Services operating system.
Reporting architects that are responsible for providing reports to support operations and program management for divisions.
Duties in this department include:
Serves as the agency liaison to the General Assembly, Governor's Office, and Congressional delegation on legislative, appropriations, and regulatory changes.
Serves as the primary point of contact on agency wide constituent service requests.
Coordinates a large number of the agency outreach efforts.
Serves as a liaison to trade organizations and businesses on legislative matters.
Plays a leadership role in many of the agency wide special projects and initiatives.
