State Benefit Lien Registry

Related to South Carolina Statute S.C. Code § 12-54-122, the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) will implement a statewide benefit lien registry for filing and indexing state benefit liens on 03/01/2023.  The implementation of benefit liens will occur in stages, and not all liens will be filed on 03/01/2023.  If there is a balance due that is lien eligible, then a lien may be filed at any time after 03/01/2023.  If a lien is not filed, it does not negate the responsibility of the balance due.

Once implemented on 03/01/2023, DEW's Online Benefit Lien Registry can be accessed at https://uitax.dew.sc.gov/LienRegistry

  • Lien Search: You may search DEW liens by the SC DEW lien ID, individual name and the last four digits of the social security number
  • Payments: A payment may be remitted on any DEW lien by logging into your MyBenefits claimant portal at https://scuihub.dew.sc.gov/CSS/CSSLogon.htm
  • Lien Satisfaction: Once a lien has been paid in full and the payment has been processed, then you will be able to view and print confirmation of the satisfied lien
