Labor Force Participation Task Force

South Carolina Labor Force Participation Task Force

The purpose of the S.C. Labor Force Participation Taskforce is to explain why there is a deficit of participants in the workforce compared to the surplus of jobs available across the state. The Task Force will be able to target which specific industries are struggling the most, determine the economic factors at play, and discover which demographics of our population are missing from the workforce.

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) has collaborated with the S.C. Council of Competitiveness (SC Competes) and representatives of multiple state agencies, businesses, and institutes of higher education to launch the S.C. Labor Force Participation Taskforce.
