"Growing up, I was the sibling tasked with getting spiders out of the house and protecting bees in our garden when we came across one. I didn't care how many eyes or legs they had; I was never afraid of insects and still feel they all have a story to tell, just like us! I've always been fond of bees in particular and knew even as a little girl that I could spend forever researching their biology, unique interpersonal relationships, and positive impact on our ecosystem. Bees are unsung heroes of our planet!
I guess you could say curiosity and desire to save bugs led me to a career in entomology, because every day provides a chance for me to understand and protect these important little workers."
