"After over five years of experience as an electrical power line installer and repairer, I completed the certification to become a journeyman. And it is really rewarding work. When most folks turn on a light in their house or enjoy a cold drink from the refrigerator, they don’t think of all of us utility workers performing maintenance and repairs of high-voltage power lines, responding to emergencies, and ensuring electrical grid reliability day in and day out. Sometimes when you're restoring electricity after an outage, you can hear people cheer from their homes when the power comes back on. It always makes me laugh, and it never gets old! I love that feeling. Being a journeyman is a badge of honor for me."
