Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes are the federal standard used to classify workers into the specific category that best matches their job. The UI Webform allows you to ask the agency unemployment-related questions. For security reasons, no individual information about a claim can be shared through the form, but by using this convenient and efficient resource as a way to connect with broad questions about the UI process, you can avoid a potential wait time on the phone.
Connection Points are computer labs that provide information on how to file for unemployment insurance through DEW and career services offered through SC Works. More than 170 libraries, faith-based organizations, and nonprofits across the state serve as Connection Points. You can find Connection Points near you by clicking on your region here.
The Office of Statewide Workforce Development (OSWD) resides within DEW and is responsible for implementing the Statewide Education and Workforce Development Act initiatives under the direction of the Coordinating Council for Workforce Development (CCWD). On April 16, the SC Senate confirmed Dr. Rebecca Battle-Bryant as the first-ever Director of the OSWD. Please join DEW in welcoming her to our agency!
