Overview for Jobseekers

The SC Career Readiness Program is designed to strengthen workforce readiness and support employer hiring needs. It is administered by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW).

The statewide program helps jobseekers build and demonstrate essential workplace skills through validated assessments and credentials, while providing employers with tools to align skills with job requirements. These results strengthen and prepare the state’s workforce to attract higher-wage jobs and support economic growth.

Worldwide Interactive Network (WIN) Learning, a contracted provider, collaborates to deliver the program’s educational software, assessments, credentials, and job analysis tools. These tools are made available through a network of approved partners across the state.

This coordinated approach ensures consistent access to workforce readiness resources while maintaining strong alignment with employer demand.

The SC Career Readiness Program includes six assessments, courseware (educational software), to help individuals prepare for each, and a job analysis to help employers determine the achievement level required to perform a particular job function. The assessments and educational software are made available to jobseekers at no cost through SC Works centers and partner locations.
