Columbia, S.C. – The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) is pleased to announce that the second annual photo contest is underway, and we have received dozens of amazing entries from businesses showing off what makes working in South Carolina so great! The SC@Work: 2024 Photo Contest is an initiative to celebrate the hard work and passion of businesses across the state by showcasing pictures of “SC at work,” in which employers of any size, demographic, industry, and region submit a photo of their employees in action as they work.

“Last year, we saw nearly 200 photos from businesses proudly presenting the hustle and bustle of their work in South Carolina. This year, we encourage even more businesses to participate in this unique opportunity to showcase a company’s most valuable resource of all – the men and women who make up their workforce,” said DEW Executive Director William Floyd. “This contest captures the spirit of the talented and diverse workers that are the heart of our state’s thriving economy.”

During the 2023 Workforce Symposium, we announced the 2023 winners and issued an accompanying press release. DEW is excited to share the launch of the virtual SC@Work Gallery, which displays all photo submissions from the inaugural 2023 photo contest and is sortable by region.

The contest invites every employer in South Carolina, regardless of photography experience, to submit images that capture the spirit, excellence, and pride of people in the workplace.  All employers are welcome, from small businesses to large companies, healthcare to manufacturing, Clemson to Charleston, and many more! Help us display the beauty and dedication of the various people and services that comprise our state’s workforce.

The top entries will be selected based on the composition and quality of the shots. This year’s winners will be announced during the 2024 Workforce Symposium on September 12 in recognition of Workforce Development Month. Their images will be featured on the upcoming 2024 SC@Work Gallery on the DEW website and the agency's social media platforms.

The submission deadline is Friday, July 26, 2024.  For more information about the photo contest rules and requirements on how to enter your photograph, please visit the PollUnit submission page. Only photos submitted through the PollUnit page will be taken into consideration.

Members of the press can email communications@dew.sc.gov with inquiries or interviews, while employers can email that address with technical questions.

Please join DEW in showing SC@Work and recognizing South Carolina’s exceptional workers!
