SC-CAP Grant Opportunity Extended and Upcoming Cybersecurity Webinar Announced

Manufacturing, Architecture, Engineering, and Logistics companies can apply through June 30, 2023

Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP), the S.C. Department of Commerce (SCDOC), and the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) are proud to announce that the S.C. Cybersecurity Assistance Program (SC-CAP) has been extended through June 30, 2023. The SC-CAP provides funding and assistance for companies operating in the defense industrial base to comply with cybersecurity standards. 

“The SC-CAP aims to educate South Carolina’s manufacturers operating in the defense supply chain about cybersecurity threats, as well as provides training, consulting resources, and financial assistance to help them become compliant with the Department of Defense’s new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program,” said South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Carr. “Manufacturers increasingly rely on data, information, and technologies to run their operations. Defending these assets from disclosure, modification, disruption, or improper use is a challenging but a critical aspect of operating a business. With competing priorities and limited resources, manufacturers need guidance, solutions, and training that is practical, actionable, and cost-effective to ultimately help manage their cybersecurity and privacy risks.”

The program was originally developed for manufacturers but is now open to architecture, engineering, and logistics firms operating in the defense industrial base. Expanding the SC-CAP to include architecture, engineering, and logistics firms to participate only further enhances our state economy and the protection of our citizens.”

The upcoming webinar is designed to provide the latest information on the Department of Defense’s CMMC program due to be rolled out in Spring 2023 and the SC-CAP grant opportunity. The webinar will also feature a Question & Answer session and provide information on additional cybersecurity resources available to South Carolina manufacturing, architecture, engineering, and logistics companies engaged in the Department of Defense supply chain.
