"Working as a supply chain logistician requires me to see the big picture and dig into the nitty gritty at the same time. I must understand how each detail impacts the manufacturing process and our product’s life cycle, from design to disposal. I've always loved to work puzzles and this job is like working a hundred puzzles all at once. I make sure we have the right raw materials onsite and on time; direct their allocation; predict and handle changes in supply and demand; and manage risks of any potential impacts to production. I also select, implement, and manage business systems, evaluate logistics, and make continuous improvements. My college degree was in business, but some of my co-workers were hired based on their military experience or prior jobs. Now I’m studying to get a certification through the Association for Supply Chain Management."
