"I initially didn't see this as my career path. I didn't even know it was an option. What I did know was that I like learning different languages. I was taught Spanish at home, and now I'm fluent in both Spanish and English. In high school, I took ASL classes, which I really enjoyed, so I continued learning while I was in college.
Now, as a medical interpreter, I help patients talk with their doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff. Whether translating Spanish to English, English to Spanish, or using ASL, I play an important role in a patient's journey by helping them feel understood and supported!"
