"I wasn't sure that I wanted the responsibility of being an anesthesiologist. It's a critical part of the operating
process and people's lives depend on me.
However, as I began advancing my studies, I realized that, as a team, all of us in the operating room can
do so much good for people. Safely administering medications and monitoring patients under my care requires
diligent attention and deep compassion. Patients often feel fear and anxiety prior to a procedure or surgery,
so to serve them best, I make sure that I am calm and focused on their needs, in coordination with the entire
health care team from beginning to end."
