"I finish every workday knowing I helped protect the health, safety, and property values of my fellow community members. I take my responsibility seriously since I am entrusted to enforce city ordinances for property maintenance, public nuisances, and environmental compliance, such as Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) and FOG (fats, oils, and grease) regulations.
I treat everyone with respect, especially when I'm educating or warning residents about infractions or penalties. Sometimes people can’t meet compliance standards right away because of health or financial issues, so I try listen to a person’s unique circumstances. I like collaborating with officials, technical or professional specialists, and applicants to gather and clarify the facts before any final decisions. It’s so rewarding when a resident complies after we worked together to resolve a complicated or challenging situation.
